This year there will be multiple drop-off locations across the county for Holiday Mail for Heroes, sponsored by American Red Cross.
The program enables Americans to “give something that means something” during the holiday season and holidays year round.
The public is invited to join in thanking and recognizing members of the military, veterans, firefighters, and law enforcement and their families by giving them a handmade card designed just for them.
Thank you cards using pencils, crayons, or markers can be dropped off at locations across the county. Drop boxes are located at all schools, libraries, and senior centers and nursing homes in Lake County.
The campaign ends October 18.
