Since many people are going to be stationed in their homes for the next few months, it’s important that their home is safe and healthy. This might mean that you might have to research some of the hidden health risks in your home.

Scented Candles

Scented candles are great for making your home smell fresh, but they can harm your health. This is because many scented candles contain paraffin, which releases carcinogens when it’s burned, which can cause asthma attacks, trigger allergies, and exacerbate skin problems. You can use essential oils or simmer spices as an alternative option to freshen your home.

Toothpaste

Many big brand toothpastes have dangerous ingredients like sodium fluoride, hydrated silica, artificial sweeteners, and more. Toothpaste ingredients like sodium fluoride have been linked to cancer and neurotoxicity. Your best option is to go with an organic or herb-based toothpaste instead.

Hampers

Hampers are great for storing old clothes that need to be washed, but soft hampers with springs can be extremely dangerous, especially for children. A much safer option is to get a hamper that is made from plastic, so a spring doesn’t pop out and potentially cause harm.

Mold

Another danger to your home that can be hard to find is mold, which is terrible for you to breathe in. Mold typically sports a dark appearance and can be found on walls, in bathrooms, and on food. To keep mold out of your home, seek it out, avoid leaving wet clothes on the floor, and let natural light into your home.

Dust

Dust is another hidden health risk in your home that you should be wary of. Like mold, dust can be terrible for you to breathe and can be found everywhere. Make sure you dust and vacuum around your home regularly and get theright AC air filter for your home to improve your air quality.
