Girl Scouts Heart of the South has planned several parties throughout West Tennessee and North Mississippi area to celebrate National S’mores Day, which is Saturday, August 10.

Girl Scouts have been making s’mores for over 90 years. A recipe for “Some More” was found in the Trampings and Trailing with Girl Scouts book published in 1927, which was the first reference to s’mores found in Girl Scout history.

At Reelfoot Lake State Park, people of all ages can come and to enjoy s’mores free of cost from 4 to 6 p.m. Other locations include Marquette Park in Memphis from 1 to 3 p.m. and Ballard Park in Tupelo, Mississippi, from 1 a.m. to noon. Any questions can be sent to [email protected].
