Reelfoot Lake State Park is gearing up for an exciting 2020.
The park will kick things off on January 1 with their first hike of the year, beginning at 3 p.m. Participants should meet at Reelfoot Lake State Park Visitor Center. Rangers will announce the location of the hike that day.
The hike is an opportunity for photography and bird spotting. Eagles, snow geese, and ducks can all be seen near Reelfoot Lake this time of year.
The 16th annual Reelfoot Lake Eagle Festival will be held January 31-February 2. The festival will include eagle tours, vendors, art and photography contests, children’s activities and educational programs.
Ranger David Haggard will host a live Birds of Prey program at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1. John one Eagle will perform live music afterward at 12:30 p.m.
Reservations are required for eagle tours. For more information and pricing, visit tnstateparks.com/parks/reelfoot-lake or contact the visitor’s center at 731-253-9652.
