Swift released on $200,000 bond

David Swift, 54, who was charged with the first-degree murder of his wife, was released on $200,000 bond on Wednesday, August 31.
Terms and conditions of his bond include that he must wear an ankle monitor at all times and is restricted where he can travel. He cannot possess a firearm or crossbow, cannot have any contact with any of the witnesses in the case.
Swift was arrested in Birmingham, Ala. In the death of his wife, Karen Swift. According to the indictment she was last seen on October 30, After weeks of searching, Swift’s body was discovered
on December 10, 2011 near her home. An autopsy report stated that she died of blunt force trauma
to the head. She was 44.
Swift was arraigned on August 10, 2022 and pled not guilty to the murder charge. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 18, 2022.
