The Tiptonville Board of Mayor and Aldermen met Tuesday, June 13 and voted to approve the 2023-2024 budget on the first reading. The second reading will be on June 30 at the Tiptonville City Hall at 4:30 p.m.
Aldermen voted on the first reading of the Peddler’s Ordinance #2217. According to the ordinance a permit must be purchased by anyone selling around town excluding yard sales.
The second reading of an ordinance to rezone the Berry property was approved. The property was zoned as residential but will now be zoned as commercial property.
Mayor Berry reported to the board that he had purchased a portable bypass pump to use until the new lift station is built. He said using the pump will save the town $5,000 per month for the pump they had been renting.
