Car manufacturers are constantly improving their vehicles’ performance and technology, and 2020 is going to be an exciting year for new vehicles. These are the top cars to look forward to in 2020. Some may shock you, as a few historic companies are turning their attention to new sights: electric.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette

The eighth generation of the Chevrolet Corvette comes in both coupe and convertible options with a targa top or hardtop, respectively. You can also opt for a retractable hardtop in the convertible option. There are three launch colors: red, blue, and white. Using a 6.2L V8 engine, this sports car is the first mid-engine Corvette since its inception in 1953.

2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA

This car is designed for young luxury buyers. The Mercedes-Benz CLA is a subcompact executive, four-door sedan with an almost completely flat underbody for a record low drag coefficient. The AMG CLA35 model uses all-wheel drive with a seven-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. There is a 221 hp, 2.0L turbocharged engine for a fast and serious powertrain.

2020 Tesla Roadster

The 2020 Tesla Roadster is an all-electric, battery-powered four-seater sports car that can go from zero miles per hour to 60 miles per hour in less than two seconds. It utilizes three electric motors (two in the back, one in the front) along with a 200-kWh battery to reach an electric range of 620 miles. Given their impressive reputation, base models are expected to sell for $200,000 after the first 1,000, which will be priced at $250,000.

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E

Given the rise of electric vehicles, it’s unsurprising that Ford has gotten into the game with a revamped version of its signature muscle car. The Ford Mustang Mach-E is an electric compact crossover SUV with a power output of 190 to 342 kW and a battery of 75.7 to 98.8 kWh, which give it an impressive 210- to 300-mile electric range. The Mach-E isn’t the only high-performance vehicle Ford is releasing soon: the famous Mustang Mach-1 might make a comeback with upgraded Brembo brakes, larger wheels, and a quad tip exhaust.

2021 Audi e-tron GT

The Audi e-tron brand is a series of electric cars, featuring plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles. The newest model in this lineup is the e-tron GT. This four-door all-electric grand tourer is fitted with an 800-volt system to reduce charging times. Additionally, the car features two synchronous electric motors with a combined power output of 434 kW and a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery. With the ability to travel up to 248.5 miles, the car even made a cameo appearance in the blockbuster film Avengers: Endgame.

2021 Rivian R1T

Last on this list is the Rivian R1T. Rivian emerged recently as a competitor to Tesla. The large delivery company Amazon has already expressed interest after ordering 100,000 vehicles. Currently, the R1T is an all-electric pickup truck designed with off-road capability and 14 inches of ground clearance. The truck can allegedly reach 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds, wade through 1.1m of water, and climb a 45-degree incline.
