The workplace is an area in which, ideally, everyone works together to further a company’s success. Employees need to be on the same page; if they’re not, their progress will suffer. As such, try to plan a few events in which you and your employees can get to know each other better and take a short break from the regular work routine. If you don’t know what to do, choose one from our unique team-building ideas.

1. Host an In-House Paint and Sip

You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who doesn’t love the idea of a paint and sip. After all, you get to be creative, hang out with fun people, and nurse your wine of choice. Consider clearing out your office floor one evening and getting crafty.

2. Have an Outdoor Game Day

There’s a reason why so many businesses use games to strengthen their team’s bond. Getting physical and focusing on a different task allows everyone to clear their minds and get to know a bit more about each other outside the office.

3. Take a Personality Test

Choose a popular personality test—the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Enneagram are both popular options—and encourage your employees to take it. We recommend that you, of course, take it as well. After everyone completes the test, set up a meeting to go over your results. This allows everyone to get a clearer perspective on why their coworkers carry out tasks or foster relationships the way they do.

4. Hold a Book Club

Book clubs have been around for as long as anyone can remember, and they’re the perfect way to engage employees in in-depth conversations. Let a different employee choose a book each month. This allows everyone to show their coworkers their interests.

5. Go to an Escape Room

This unique team-building idea is incredibly fun and allows everyone to play to their strengths. It will take ages to get out of the room if you can’t all work together and listen to each other. An escape room is also an opportunity for employees to practice their leadership skills.
