Lake County Extension Service County Director Maggie Goodman<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n

The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and UT Extension are proud to announce the appointment of a new County Director for the Lake County Extension Service.
Maggie Goodman was appointed on October 1st to the position previously held by Greg Allen, Lake County\u2019s retired Ag and Natural Resources Agent.
Maggie joined the Lake County Office as the county\u2019s first full-time 4-H Youth Development Agent in December 2021. Over the course of her tenure, Lake County began club programming for the first time in over 50 years and had its first high school delegates represent the county at the State 4-H Congress program. She also has secured over $12,000 in grant money for the first year of 4-H programming in the county and currently has school clubs in every 4th-6th grade class in the Lake County School District.
She will continue with 4-H duties while serving as county director.
Maggie has previously served as a trainer, content specialist, and instructional designer for various non-profits and educational organizations\u2014including work with the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago Public Schools, The Memphis Film Commission, The Rural Organizing Project, and The American Museum of Natural History-NYC. She\u2019s also worked as a professional writer, performer, and educator with The Second City Theater-Chicago and the UCB Theater-NYC.
Maggie is a proud native of Fulton County, Kentucky, which is the home place of her family\u2019s fourth-generation farm. She is a co-owner of a cut flower farm known as Double Trouble Farms. Maggie is the daughter of Walt and Sally Goodman In her spare time, she enjoys spending time watching her nephews play football. She also enjoys crafting and gardening with her nieces. As a new resident of Tiptonville, she looks forward to expanding the resources that the UT Extension Office can provide the folks of Lake County and to putting down roots in her new hometown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
