Friends of Reelfoot Lake State Park recently elected Karen Berkley as president and Ed Mayberry as vice president.

Berkley was nominated and unanimously voted in during the organization’s July meeting.

Mayberry was voted in during the August 31 meeting. During the meeting, members also discussed upcoming events, including the Reelfoot Arts and Crafts Festival and the Pelican Festival. Both festivals will be held in October, with Arts and Crafts on October 4-6 and the Pelican Festival on October 18-20. The events are sure to bring many visitors to Reelfoot Lake State Park next month.

The 16th Annual Friends Conference will be held November 1-3 at Henry Horton State Park. It is an opportunity for Friends group members and park personnel to learn from educational sessions, share information, and exchange program and project ideas. The event is hosted by Tennessee State Parks, Friends of Tennessee State Parks, and Friends of Henry Horton State Park.

Friends of Reelfoot Lake State Park is a non-profit organization that supports the preservation and protection of the park’s natural and cultural resources, promotes outdoor recreation, and supports environmental education.
