2023 Port of Cates Rail Extension Project

Notice is hereby given that the prime contractor, Queen City Railroad Construction, Inc., 2709 Byington Solway, Knoxville, TN 37931, has requested final payment and contract completion for the 2023 Port of Cates Landing Rail Extension Project. Said project is located in the City of Tiptonville in Lake County, Tennessee. Any local resident, subcontractor, or supplier who has a claim against the contractor regarding said project has 10 days from the date of this notice to file his/her claim with the Regional Port Authority Chairman, Mr. Jimmy Williamson, at Port of Cates Landing, 4480 Cates Landing Road N., Tiptonville, TN 38079 or by phone at 731-253-3338.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Tiptonville, TN will receive sealed bids at City Hall at 130 S. Court Street, Tiptonville, TN 38079 until 2:00 PM on August 11, 2025 for:

The Construction of: Sports Field Renovations — Tiptonville, TN

The project includes renovation and improvements to the existing sports fields at the Lake County Recreational Park in Tiptonville, TN. Project includes the removal of existing field elements, installation of new infield skin, bases, plates, rubber, and sod fraise mowing.

The Information for Bidders and other Contract Documents may be examined at the following location:

A ‘thumb drive’ containing Bidding Documents may be obtained at the office of Kimley-Horn, 6750 Poplar Avenue, Suite 600, Memphis, TN 38138, by paying a non-refundable fee of $100.00, in the form of a check made payable to “Kimley-Horn & Associates,” per ‘thumb drive’. Receipt of payment will place Bidder on an approved list.

Each bid must be submitted on forms provided in Bid Documents and either accompanied by a Bid Bond, properly executed on the form provided, or Cashier’s Check drawn on a National or Tennessee Bank in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price.

Bids filed as provided herein shall be publicly opened on August 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Tiptonville City Hall, 130 S. Court Street, Tiptonville, TN 38079.

Bids received after the time set for opening of bids shall not be considered and will be returned unopened.

The City of Tiptonville shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids if said body deems it necessary in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Tiptonville. For additional information call Gerald Parish, Project Manager, at (731) 499-1307.
