Sixth grader brings gun to school

Administrators at Lara Kendall Elementary School were notified last Monday that a sixth grade student possibly had brought a loaded gun to school in his backpack.

When the child entered the school he was met by school officials and the gun was taken. He was taken to McDowell Center for Children in Dyersburg where he was released to his parents.

No other information has been released.
